Luke 15:11 "A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father..." Notice here that this younger son called his father "Father"; it is capitalized. Later we read about the older son's anger, and speaking of his father: Luke 15:29 "And he answering his father [his father - lower case], Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment ["commandment" - keep this word in mind]:and yet thou never gavest me a kid [fatted calf], that I might make merry with my friends"

The lost son called his natural father - Father; while the older and ever present in his fathers house, called his natural father - father [lower case]. The illusion is clear, the reference to Father by the lost son, and the reference to his father's commandment by the older son; clearly points out that this parable has wisdom to teach us the the reference to Father is God the Father, even the older son recognized his father's commandment. This parable points to God the Father in dealing with His lost sheep, Israel, and while they were lost, Israel also performed transgression against their Father's commandments; and were devoured by living and worshiping the pagan gods with they performed adultery with harlots on all the high hills, and to worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in God's way... to keep his commandments.

In this parable of Luke 15, the older son is represented by Pharisees and Sudducees, for the older son said he had not transgressed at any time God's commandment; the Pharisees and Sudducees also claimed the exact same standing. But when Our Lord Jesus Christ appeared before them, He exposed the lie of the Pharisees and Sudducees. Therefore, the older son actually lied regarding his status of not transgressing any of God's commandments.

This parable in Luke 15 represents Isreal's issue of Sonship maturity with the Father. In the entire Old Testament, Israel is never seen as a mature son, always called "child" of God and "children" of God. Israel never attained unto the status of a Son in the Father's education curriculum because they failed to perform the Commandments of God. Even though nearly the entire Old Testament is devoted to the principles that God presents to teach Israel unto the statue of a Son. However, they never reached that mature status: David and Solomon, however, did temporiarily attain unto sonship for a season, for the purpose to setup the Seat of the Kingdom and the Temple. But for all of Isreal's history, the Law was their tutors and governors, always teaching, always  administering unto children. Israel was always under the Law of tutors and governors and never was fully adopted as mature sons.
